From Russia With Love (1963)

Decisions, decisions, decisions…

James Bond has his next movie when he goes to Russia and ends up with a femme fatale/Russian defector who has something he wants pretty badly, no, not that, the mechanism… Anyway it seems like a simple case of getting the woman and this thing called an encoder and then leaving with her and the macguffin but Spectre is after him and has set him up as the fall guy for a sleazy Russia meets MI6 adult film, which now a days would probably find its way to any of a large number of adult sites.

That being said, this was the 1960s and the biggest issues Bond faces in this movie are some boats chasing after them and having an interesting encounter with a helicopter when some guys drop hand grenades towards him when he is driving a truck. There is also a pretty good fight at a camp full of gypsies, tramps and thieves, I counted, they really do have all three of those… and another fight with a guy named Red Grant on board a train. While I am not a big fan of this movie, the Bond girl just isn’t good enough to pull off this much of a plot that depends on the Bond woman, I would still say this is a pretty good movie and is definitely better/more enjoyable than a couple of the other Bond movies from this same decade.
