Rio Bravo (1959)

Click, click, kaboom!

This movie starts out slow but improves as it goes along. This movie is more of a drama than an action western but the two sequels to this movie would increase the pacing and make things more interesting. That being said, this is a good movie, too, although I might like each one of these more than the previous one.

John Wayne does some good acting with a lot of dialogue to work with and has a good supporting cast including Ward Bond in the final movie of his career before his death. This all finishes up with a pretty good, explosive finish at a warehouse on the outskirts of town where they have to give up the guy they have been keeping in their prison for murder to get Dean Martin back who was captured when he decided to take a bath.
