This is the final movie in the series and is pretty serious. They attempt to adapt to the times but it doesn’t work very well because the series has clearly run its course. This time the Thin Man goes into the jazz music scene. He encounters some music and lots of slang along with a couple of criminals.
The most memorable scene would be either when they go to an asylum showing that movies had moved in an edgier direction in just the last several years or the scene at the end when the denouement is done by having a crazy clarinet player put on another performance. Things are wrapped up for the series and none too soon considering anymore movies would probably have just contributed to the over all decline.
