Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933)

There were a couple of movies made with the early color design. One of them was Doctor X. Another one of them was this movie. Outside of having the interesting red and green color scheme again for the movie, this movie is pretty decent. The wax museum it takes place in is a good setting and this would be the first of several movies that would have sort of a dark house in a wax museum. Later museum movies such as Charlie Chan and Frozen Ghost wouldn’t quite compare with this one. Lionel Atwill shows up again and has one of his better roles as the manager of the place who has a face hidden by a mask, sort of like Phantom of the Opera. If you want another movie similar to Doctor X, although maybe not quite as good as that one was, then this is a pretty good movie to check out.

I am a writer and avid movie watcher (used to be music listener but I got bored of that).
