“Well, here’s another nice mess you’ve gotten me into…”
We get a slight change of scenery with this movie when Holmes goes to Washington. Holmes must find a small piece of microfilm that turns out to be just a macguffin and not that important since we never find out what was actually on the film. The plot is O.K. I like that it has Holmes go to the United States, but the actual plot is kind of average. We get some good action in this movie, too, and the supporting cast is all pretty good. George Zucco serves as a good villain in the movie.

For the record, the 1940s is a real slog fest since we had so many B movies during a five year phase that pretty much all looked the same. Oh, dear…
