Sherlock Holmes and Secret Weapon (1943)

This is an interesting movie if you understand the careers of Rathbone and Atwill at the time. Rathbone was on his way up while Atwill on his way down after a scandal so seeing the two of them go at each other is an interesting thing. This is also the second in the series of Holmes movies with Holmes going against the nazis and the first movie in the series that didn’t have any serious problems for me to point out. By this point they had gotten the hang of the movie series by having Holmes front and center while establishing an action vibe giving us both plenty to be excited over while at the same keeping us happy with its simplicity and large amount of humor. The series would continue pretty well from here.
