Charlie Chan goes to a castle in the desert in this movie. Only one person is killed during the movie, but it is still pretty interesting because there are a couple of different criminals doing things at the same time. One of them is pulling off a conspiracy while another one is the actual murderer. In typical castle fashion, there is a good amount of atmosphere and the obviously low budget gives this movie a large amount of camp. It is no wonder that Monogram continued this movie series and put it into the toilet after this movie was the last one from the previous company to make Charlie Chan movies. They should have left it at this one because it was probably the last good one the series would have.
