Terror by Night (1946)

This Holmes movie is on a train instead of a boat like last time. It’s clear we have come towards the end of the series since ideas for movies had moved into Charlie Chan territory with different gimmicks for each movie. The movie is incredibly slight and moves along at a good pace. A couple of criminals steal a jewel and Holmes must get it back. Both Watson and Lestrade have some good moments with Watson having his own conquest by retrieving a stolen tea pot on accident and Lestrade doing a bait and switch so they can get the drop on a couple of criminals at the end of the movie.

I am a writer and avid movie watcher (used to be music listener but I got bored of that).
